This hike, which uses Borrego Trail, Windsor Trail, and Bear Wallow Trail, is wonderfully close to Santa Fe and a quick way to get the flavor of the mountains and streams of the Sangre de Cristo. It is popular trail, so please be prepared for all kinds of company, especially on weekends. Directions: From Santa Fe, on route to the Santa Fe Ski Area (Artist Road) that turns into Hyde Park Road. Drive about 8 miles to the end of Hyde Park, just past the campground on the left.
